Funeral Services for Mr. Timothy Franklin, 55, of 490 Reid Street, Orangeburg, will be held 11:00 am Friday, October 11, 2019, at Simmons Funeral Home Chapel, 2868 Columbia Road, Orangeburg, SC with interment following in Belleville Memorial Gardens. Reverend Charcey N. Priester, Sr. and Reverend Virginia White are officiating.
Timothy Earl Franklin went on to be with the Lord on October 4, 2019 at the Regional Medical Center at the age of 53, surrounded by family and friends. He was born on March 2, 1964 in Orangeburg, SC.
To know him was to love him. He will be missed by the community in which he grew up, especially his family. Even though he was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church, he loved visiting and singing at other churches praising the Lord.
Timothy joined St. Paul Baptist Church May 7, 1972 at the age of eight, under the leadership of the late Reverend Dr. H. T. Williams, Sr. He attended Sunday School, Church, sung on the Youth Gospel Choir, and H.T. Ensemble. He also joined the Cub Scouts under the leadership of Scout Master, the late Deacon Eddie Connor.
Timothy Franklin was a 1983 graduate of Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School. He went on to attend Voorhees College in Denmark, SC, where he took up the trade of brick masonry.
Timothy was preceded in death by his grandmother, Dora Franklin; sister, Gail E. Allen; brother, James Edward Franklin; father, Joseph Hampton; and step-father, Captain W.C. Jamison.
Timothy Franklin leaves to cherish precious memories: a loving mother, Mrs. Amie H. Jamison of Orangeburg, SC; two children: Gregory and Wanda Keitt of Orangeburg, SC; seven sisters: Diane (Clesia) Nelson, Brenda (Jerome) Cramer, Cynthia (Jeffrey) Rich, Connie (Reverend Steven) Palmer and Belinda Jamison, all of Orangeburg, SC, Debra A. Franklin of Columbia, SC and Joann Hampton Minter of Atlanta, GA; two brothers: Wayne A. Franklin and Robert M. Johnson of Orangeburg, SC; one aunt, Clary L. Richardson-Wilson of New York, NY; god sister, Pastor Ann (Clarence) Owens of Orangeburg, SC; three loving cousins: David (Ethel) Franklin of Orangeburg, SC, Ruth Dixon of Columbia, SC and Joseph Franklin of Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm Thursday, October 10, 2019, at Simmons Funeral Home, Orangeburg, SC.
Friends may visit at the residence of his mother, Mrs. Amie Jamison, 468 Chestnut Street, Orangeburg or Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory of Orangeburg.
