Memorial services for Mr. Willie Sanders, 78, of 1000 Live Oak Drive, Orangeburg, SC will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 2022 at Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel, Orangeburg, SC.
Willie Sanders was born on December 22, 1943 in Orangeburg. South Carolina He was the son of the late George Sanders and Martha Brown Sanders. Willie departed this life on Saturday, July 30, 2022.
Willie attended Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School He was employed at camping World for 18 years. At the beginning of his career, he was hired as a transportation delivery driver. Throughout the years, he held various positions at Camping World. In his later years, he was elevated to a position that afforded him the opportunity to work between the Columbia and Charleston, South Carolina offices to be closer to his family.
Willie was an outgoing person who loved life. It was not unusual to find him at the local fishing holes and laughing until he was crying. He never met a stranger. His heart was so filled with love and compassion. He often visited individuals who were sick and did anything he could do to help those in need. He also loved the lord. He dedicated his life to God and was a member of Bull Swamp Baptist Church in Orangeburg, South Carolina. He is preceded m death by his parents. George and Martha Brown Sanders; two sisters: Marie Sanders Keitt and Georgia Mae Sanders Thomas; and three grandchildren: Shavone Bradley, Stacie Jones and EIvin Charlie.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a special companion, Vanessa Geddis of Orangeburg, SC; four sons: Willie (Lawanda) Jones, Vernon (Cynthia) Jones, Willie Geddis all of Orangeburg, SC. and William Sanders of Charleston, SC; two daughters: Janie (Freddie) Shuler of Orangeburg,SC and Connie (Boris) Connor of Columbia, SC; one sister: Shirley Ann Sanders (Ernest) Romeo of Charlotte. NC; two brothers: George (Joanne) Sanders. Jr. and Eijah (Nancy) Sanders both of Orangeburg. SC: 21 grandchildren: 56 great grandduldren; 32 great-great grandchildren; a very dose and beloved friend, Chris Searcy of Ladson, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and dear friends.
There will be no public viewing
