Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Lou Moorer Carmichael, 70, of 4590 Daniel, Street, Orangeburg, SC, will be held 1:30 pm Sunday, December 22, 2019 at St. Paul Baptist Church, 2259 Rowesville Rd, Orangeburg. Reverend Charcey N. Priester is officiating.
Mrs. Annie Lou (Moorer) Carmichael was born on August 6, 1949 in Orangeburg, South Carolina to Mr. Johnnie Adams and Mrs. Rebecca Sistrunk Adams-Young, but was gracefully reared by Mr. Charlie Young. Annie was called upon the Lord into eternal rest on December 12, 2019 at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
Annie became a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church at an early age, but later transferred her fellowship to St. Paul Baptist Church in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She was educated in the Public Schools of Orangeburg (Wilkinson High.) and was employed by American Yard Products (Roper Corp.) for over 20 years.
“Ann Lou” as she was affectionately called by her loved ones, enjoyed a love for cooking, singing and dancing and within her own rights became a successful restaurant owner. She celebrated many accomplishments; however, her greatest joy was the love for her family and her faithfulness to the Lord. Annie’s nurturing, loving, and welcoming personality touched so many hearts; she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Annie was preceded in death by both parents, a daughter and son-in-law Gloria (Jesse) Jamison, a son Rodney Moorer, a grandson Nathaniel Sharod Glenn, a sister Carolyn Saxon, her best friend Joann Mack, an Aunt Shirley Johnson, and Uncle Leroy Sistrunk.
Annie leaves to cherish her fond memories her husband Mr. Richard Carmichael; seven daughters Sylvia (Christopher) Harley, Angela (George) Lee, Joyce (Quincy) Moorer, Shondia Moorer, all of Orangeburg, South Carolina, Rachelle Carmichael of Columbia, South Carolina; Jennifer (Mitchel) Carmichael-Smith of Fort Mitchell, Alabama; a son Allen (Lashonda) Carmichael of Athens, Georgia and Elizabeth (Carlton) Clark of Orangeburg, South Carolina. Two Honorary daughters Menika Smith, Keshia Wannamaker, both of Orangeburg, South Carolina; Two Honorary sons Carlos Miller of Columbia, South Carolina and Wilbur Smith of Orangeburg, South Carolina. Her sisters: Shirley Adams, Audrey Young, Queen Shuler, Beverly Young, Cynthia Young, Albertha C. Johnson, Evelyn Houston-Robinson all of Orangeburg, South Carolina; brothers John (Patricia) Adams, Charles (Deborah) Young, both of Orangeburg, South Carolina; and Johnnie Adams of North, South Carolina; aunts Mary Ethel Fields and Naomi Wright, both of Queens, New York, Cora Davis, Thelma Jamison of Orangeburg, South Carolina, and an uncle Jay (Emma Jean) Adams, of Orangeburg, South Carolina; 24 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Carmichael will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Carmichael passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at the Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg, SC. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 21, 2019 from 1:30pm 8:00pm.
