Private funeral services will be held for Mrs. Azalee Hopkins, 96, of 392 Fanfare Drive, Orangeburg, SC.
Mrs. Azalee Bamberg Hopkins was born November 28, 1923 to the late Willie Perry Bamberg and Rosa Lee Moss Bamberg. She departed to be with the Lord on June 10, 2020 at her home in Orangeburg, SC. She was educated in the Orangeburg County Public School System. She was a graduate of South Carolina State College and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Mrs. Hopkins was a faithful member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
She was employed as a social worker in Manhattan, New York. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph M. Hopkins; and two sisters: Frizal Bamberg and Lucille Adams. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Kenneth (Jewell) Hopkins; a special niece and caregiver, Rose Ann Bamberg; caregiver, Mozell Felder; five grandchildren: Everette (Karen) Smith, Stephanie (Travis) Millhouse, Kenneth Hopins, II, Krystal Hopkins and Eric Hopkins; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, loving relatives and dear friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 13, 2020 from 2:00pm – 7:00pm.
