We do not understand the mystery of death, but it is in heritage of our great faith that we lay our blessed and dead away. In this we find our comfort and strength. Human life, like nature has its season, childhood and youth are the spring of life, womanhood is the summer, declination is the autumn, and old age is the winter.
In His infinite wisdom, God our Father, who doeth all things well and maketh all things work together for the good of those who love Him, called Evangelist Ernestine F. Connor to her eternal resting place on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at her daughter's home in Atlanta, Georgia. She was born May 5, 1942 in Orangeburg, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Henry B. Frederick and Alfreda Green Frederick.
She accepted Christ at an early age in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at Faith Tabernacle Holiness Church. She later moved to South Carolina and joined Faith Tabernacle Deliverance Temple under the leadership of Bishop Ronald E. Brown where she was ordained an Elder of the church. Evangelist Connor had a love for Jesus and serving the people. Lending a hand to those in need was a part of her local ministry.
She attended the public schools and graduated South Carolina State University and received her Bachelor and Masters degrees with further studies at USC Columbia and Spartanburg.
Traveling extensively across the Northeast, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, she joined the US Navy and served her country for three years. She retired from public education after teaching over thirty years in the public schools.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to Benjamin Connor, III. Preceding Elder Connor in death includes three brothers: Abraham, Henry, and Herman Frederick.
Elder Connor leaves to cherish her memories, her husband; one daughter, Justine T. Connor; three sons: Jeffery Vernon, Henry Jerome, and Frederick T.; three sisters: Flossie (James) Howell of Trenton, NJ, Vera Black of Philadelphia, PA, and A Delores Franklin of Orangeburg, SC; two brothers: William Leroy Amos (Annie) Frederick of Geneva, NY and Marion Frederick of Orangeburg, SC; nine loving grandchildren with Juwan Connor being reared in the home; eight great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
