Obituary For Ms. Cora Rivers Grant

Funeral services for Ms. Cora Rivers Grant, 76, of 402 Shadowfield Court, Elloree, SC, will be held 11:00am, Monday, January 16, 2023, at Brown Chapel AME Church, 195 Browns Chapel Road, Elloree, with interment to follow in the church cemetery.

Cora Lee “Dot/Pip” Rivers-Grant, daughter of the late Edward Rivers and Lovanna Rivers, was born on November 19, 1946, in Elloree, South Carolina. She entered eternal rest on January 8, 2023.

Cora was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg County, South Carolina. She was employed by Chevron of Elloree, Cracker Barrel of Santee, and The Super Market of Elloree, where she was a cook.

She was preceded in death by her husband, London (Johnny) Grant; son, Shonterro Rivers; three sisters: Sadie Darby Louqueen Jones and Betty Rivers; three brothers: Hercules Rivers, Danny Rivers and Robert Rivers; and three brothers-in-law: Ernest Darby, Kenneth Jones and Ephraim Brown.

Cora leaves to cherish fond memories: one daughter, Jacqueline (Edward) Goodwin; two sons: John (Latonya) Rivers and Darryl (Tinesha) Rivers; two sisters-in-law: Ella Rivers and Mary Rivers; 26 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a special nephew, Louis Rivers; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and dear friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 15, 2023, from 2:00pm - 6:00m.
