Geneva was born April 21, 1959, to the late Robert McClennon and Julia Mayes Powell in Orangeburg, SC. She entered into eternal rest on July 4, 2025, in Rock Hill, SC. Geneva was raised in Brooklyn, NY from childhood to early adulthood then later relocated back to Orangeburg, SC where she took up permanent residence. She received her education in the public school systems of Brooklyn, NY and Orangeburg, SC. She later attended Orangeburg - Calhoun Technical College. Geneva retired from Koyo Bearing Corporation after 25 years of devoted service.
She attended her family church at Olive Grove Missionary Baptist Church and later became a member at St. Paul Baptist Church.
Geneva had a passion for life that was contagious. She loved traveling with her daughters, seeing new places, and creating beautiful memories. She also found great joy in music; the melodies that filled her home were reflections of the joy, emotion, and depth of her spirit.
Those who knew Geneva will always remember her for her bright, welcoming smile, her gentle soul, and the way she made people feel loved and valued. She had a calming presence, a listening ear, and a heart that welcomed everyone.
Geneva was a loving mother, a devoted grandmother, a cherished sister, and a loyal friend. Affectionately known as "Grandma", her grandchildren were the light of her life and she adored spending time with them, sharing her laughter, wisdom, and endless affection.
Geneva was preceded in death by her grandparents, Flossie (Samuel) Mayes and Henry (Sadie) McClennon; her brother-in-law, Joe Richard Paul Jr.; her sister-in-law, Leshayna McClennon; and her beloved nephews, Rasheen Tromp and Gregory Paul.
She is survived by her three children, Zakiya (Donny) Wilson, Oyeshina Briggman, and Taumora (Anthony) Fleming; and a loving step-daughter, Deshandra (Alex) Fogle, all of whom she loved deeply and supported unconditionally; seven beautiful grandchildren, Aniya Wilson, Riyanna Wilson, Brielle Wilson, Nyashia Mack, Anthony Fleming Jr., Mya Fleming, and Leah Fleming; three brothers, Robert McClennon Jr., Kevin (Latericiea) McClennon, Keith (Jamesetter) Credell; one sister, Carol Paul; her dear aunt, Birdell Stroman, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
