The Curry family extends our heartfelt sympathy to Robert in the passing of his beloved daughter Iris. 2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
Iris was a part of the Spring 2000 Alpha Xi Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (SC State University). You could look across the room and see her with a bright smile or appear to be in deep thought as she bonded with her line sisters preparing to become a woman of DST. She had a sweet spirit and very calming demeanor. May the lives she touched be covered in God's grace. May Soror Iris rest in peace and power. -ADG of Spring 1999-Alpha Xi Chapter
SENDING CONDOLENCES TO THE JONES FAMILY FROM DAISY MORGAN (SC) AND PAT GLASTER (CALIFORNIA)
I send my deepest condolences to Mr. Jones and the entire Jones family in the passing of Iris. She and I attended middle and high school together. Through those years we would become band members and develop a love for music. During our band years we would learn to become the best musician we could be. We would often challenge our peers for the first chair in our sections. At Robert E. Howard Middle, Iris and Damion Waymer would often challenge each other for first chair in their saxophone section. One week Iris would play a piece for first chair and then the next week Damion would challenge her for first chair. Mr. Z would be sick of us. But little did we know these competitive moments would push us to accomplish and achieve life goals. Iris job well done. Rest easy my friend. Orangeburg-Wilkinson High Class of 97
