Obituary For Ms. Mattie Moseley

Funeral services for Ms. Mattie Moseley, 90, of 950 Berry Street, Orangeburg, SC, will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel, 2868 Columbia Road, Orangeburg, with interment to follow in Heavenly Rest Memorial Park. Rev. Joseph Zimmerman is officiating.

Mrs. Mattie M. Moseley was born September 1, 1932 to the late James and Bell Aiken of Cordova, SC. She departed this life of Thursday, October 13, 2022. She was the seventh child of 13 siblings. She was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg County South Carolina. Later, she married the love of her life, the late Ernest Moseley, Sr.

She worked various jobs. She was well-known for her kind, loving and gentle spirit. She will be missed very much by her family, friends and her community. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; one son, Ronnie Moseley; six brothers and four sisters.

She leaves to cherish fond memories: her four sons: Larry (Zora) Aiken and Johnel Moseley both of Mooresboro, NC, Ernest (Georgia) Moseley and Sammie L. (Brenda) Moseley both of Orangeburg; two daughters: Johnnie Garvin and Charlene Moseley both of Orangeburg, SC; one sister, Nellie Aiken; one brother, Willie (Betty) Aiken; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; a host of devoted nieces, nephews; and special friends: Sylvia Simmons and Viola Hampton.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 21, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Family and friends may visit the residence, 950 Berry Street, Orangeburg or call Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory of Orangeburg.
