So sorry for your loss. Sending prayers and condolences. RIP Mike
Rest easy Mike. Thank you for the guidance and wisdom you shared with me, that only you and I know of. Prayers and condolences to the family as you mourn in this most trying of times. 🙏🏾
Brother I can't tell you enough of how much you will missed. You were a true friend. Selfless giver of whatever was necessary. Rest in Peace my friend.
What I can say of Mike Johnson, as he allowed me to call him, is just this. He was a man, and a friend, and true to both without fail.
Mike liked to symbolically wear his Free Masonry, but never for any reason of ego. It was his expression of what is best in our brotherhood - honor, and truth, and courage. He was proud of what he stood for. And by his quick mind, cutting humor, and generous heart I grew to love him. I sought his company just to feel his life force. I felt safe with Mike. He met me with zero judgement, and allowed me to peek into his vulnerabilities. How could you not love such a man.
I believe Mike's great secret was how he handled his inner pain, by the guidance of this wise notion. "Hate is too great a burden to bear. I have decided to love." (MLK Jr.)
There is no greater tribute I can give than this. We first met on the level, and always parted on the square.
It is my wish now that for you Michael, your path is over there, toward "The second star to the right, and straight on 'till morning." (apologies to J.M. Barrie)
The Measure of a Man:
The measure of a man is not the battles he has won or lost, but the cause for which he as fought The measure of a man is not the ideas he claims to believe, but the ideas he demonstrates. The measure of a man is not the power or authority he acquires, but the ability to use his power with wisdom and his authority with humility. The measure of a man is not merely his love of life, but the dignity in which he lives it.
Michael A. Johnson met all these measures, by my observation as a fellow Free Mason and a friend. He will be missed by this old brother Mason.
