Pearlie Mae Idella Wade Martin was truly a gem. Born to the late Reverend Ernest I. Wade and Alma Phillips Wade on May 18, 1931, in the Shiloh Community of Middle Tennessee. She was the eldest of twelve children. After spending Mothers’ Day weekend surrounded by loved ones, the Lord called her home the afternoon of May 16th, just two days shy of her 92nd birthday.
Pearlie Mae was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Martin (2017), daughter Dorothy Frazier, brothers Ernest, Richard & John Wade, and sisters Minister Gracie Hampton, Marlene Ekeh, Anna Lilly, Novella Wade, and Baby Gwen.
Though she is absent in body, her spirit lives on in those who she leaves to cherish her memory including her children: Alma Renee’ Martin, Pastor Rodney (Monica) Martin; devoted son-in-law Leo Martin; sister Valerie (Pierre) Lyons, and brothers Goldy (Mary) Wade & Gerald R. Wade; grandchildren Tamara (Carey) Farmer, Shannon Frazier, Tabbetha Martin, Nichole Joyce, Rodney Martin II, & Matthew Martin; great – grandchildren Emoni (Jafar) Ware, Anthony Jackson, Jr. & Cali Martin; great- great granddaughter Alani Ware; Aunt Ruby McKnight; cherished ones Alton Taylor, Jr., Journey Lyons, and Joshua Williams and a host of other nieces & nephews; devoted cousins Wilma Miller & Lorene Richardson, and many other loved ones; including “children” Greg (Debra) Lyles & Darryl (Angela) Huell; godchildren Curtis Bryant, Pierrecia Lyons, & Sherry Brown.Family visitation, Friday May 26,2023 10.30-12pm. with Omega service and funeral service to follow at Olive Branch Church 1115 Minerva Drive, Murfreesboro, TN.
