Robert Earl Mayers Jr.- Age 47. May 28, 2025.
Robert Earl Mayers, Jr was born on April 23, 1978 in Nashville, Tennessee to Robert E. Mayers, Sr. and Angela (Mayers) Hairston. Robert, Jr. lovingly known by his family and friends as "Bobby", was an avid reader of books and loved working part-time with Border's Book Store.
At the tender age of 4 months, Robert, Jr. was christened at the Bethel Church of God in Christ in Union City, Tennessee with his grandfather, Elder Paul E. Sanders officiating. Later in life, he attended Cleveland Street Missionary Baptist Church and Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Nashville. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and modeled a Christian behavior throughout his lifetime.
He attended elementary school at St. Vincent De Paul School where he graduated with honors. Robert, Jr. graduated from Hume Fogg Magnet School in 1996, and attended Tennessee State University with a major in Electrical Engineering for 3.5 years. During this time period, Robert, Jr. volunteered at Cumberland Science Museum, worked at Opryland Amusement Park, and FedEx Ground where he was currently employed.
Robert, Jr. enjoyed playing video games, movies, and meeting and making new friends. He was always a giver of his time and energy, and would help others whenever he was available.
Robert, Jr.'s grandparents Elder Paul and Mrs. Martha Bradford Sanders of Union City, Tennessee; and Mr. Theodore and Mrs. Ina Mayers of Pulaski, Mississippi preceded him in death. He leaves his father, Mr. Robert E. Mayers, Sr. of Nashville, Tennessee; his mother Mrs. Angela (Timothy) Hairston of Marietta, Georgia; a brother Brandon Edward Mayers of Nashville, Tennessee; and a host of relatives, friends, and acquaintances.
