Benjamin Franklin Steele, Jr., (also called "Benny"), age 66, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed on May 18, 2022. Benny was born on October 27, 1955 as the only child to Benjamin & Otelia Y. Steele in Rockingham (Richmond County), North Carolina. A member of Providence Baptist Church, Rockingham, N.C., he was baptized at an early age. In 1977 Benny graduated from North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC with a Social Science Masters Degree in 1979. Subsequently he taught in the public school system in North Carolina until he moved to Bamberg County, South Carolina and later to Atlanta, Georgia in the early '90s . He was employed for years in the travel & hospitality industry maintaining strong work ethics until the weekend before his demise. Benny loved God, his family, and good conversation. We remember him always in good spirits with wisdom to spare. He has now gone home and found peace in hope that he will "see his family and friends on the other side". He is survived by loving friends and family.
