Our brother, cousin, nephew, uncle and friend, Jeffrey Leon Robinson, 64, transitioned on March 29, 2022, in Atlanta, GA after a courageous battle with cancer. Few people knew he was sick and that’s the way he wanted it. His mantra was “I’ll ride it til the wheels come off”. Jeffrey was born on August 11, 1957, to Vivian (Pete) Robinson and Henry James in his beloved city of Coatesville, Pennsylvania. Born with eyes as big as saucers and bright as stars, Jeffrey set out to have as many adventures as life offered. Jeffrey would graduate from CASH in 1976, enlist in the army and become head cook in the officers’ club. After being honorably discharged, he took a job as a cook on a merchant marine ship to see more of the world. Getting his love of cooking from his grandmother, Laura, he enrolled and earned an Associate of Arts from the Restaurant School at Walnut College in Philadelphia, PA, 1984. His love of all things sports earned him the title “sportshead”. He could without hesitation give you the stats on any player, any team and of course offer his opinion. Along with his friend Reginald Brickus, he would co-coach a summer league basketball team. Jeffrey moved to Atlanta in 1986 and worked for some of the top restaurants in the city. A special tribute to his caregiver, Ben Pointer, who helped Jeffrey navigate some of his most challenging times. Jeffrey believed in the promises of God, loved his family and was a loyal friend. He will be missed by a host of family and friends. He was most recently predeceased by his cousins, Peter Robinson, Leslie Crutchfield and Lorna James; also, two sisters, Regina Bryant and Stephanie James. He is survived by sisters Paulette Robinson Horne, Cynthia Dennis; Uncle Jerry James; nephews Skye Dennis, Kenneth Bryant, Irving Bryant, Maurice Bryant and Jhamir “Jiggs” Brickus; nieces Danielle Morgan, Nicole Dow, Michelle Culclasure, Deidra Bryant and Sonya Bryant; cousins Patricia Staton, Beverly Jackson, Karen Fortune, Rory Robinson, Dennis Crutchfield, Deborah Brown, Cheryl Safir, Linda Flamer, Carla Alston, Gerri Allen, Katrina James-Battle. Special friends Reginal Brickus, Willie Suber, Stephan Luby, Tam Lewis, Brenda Asbury and Ben Pointer. Funeral/memorial services are pending.
Jeffrey never complained and was always upbeat. He and I would daily send Bible verses or encouraging quotes. He was most diligent and even responded to one during his last 3 weeks. His diligence and his fortitude was such an assuring inspiration. One of a kind and better than most. Your cousin Patti
