Mr. Stacy Travis Evans, Jr. was born on Sunday, November 3, 1991, in Northside Hospital in Atlanta, GA. He was the only son of Darlene Renee Royal and Stacy Travis Evans, Sr. He departed this earth on Sunday, March 22, 2020 for eternal rest with our Heavenly Father. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Mr. Herman Kelly Atkins and his maternal grandmother Mrs. Delores Griggs Atkins.
Stacy accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA. He was a high school graduate, attending Creekside High School in Fairburn, GA; Columbia High School in Decatur, GA; and Druid Hills High School in Atlanta, GA. Upon graduation, he attended Herzing University.
Stacy, affectionately called “Poonie” as a child, developed a love and passion for the Culinary Arts. He was developing his skills and talent in local restaurants---Local Three Kitchen & Bar, A Mano Italian Restaurant, The Square Pub, and Manuel’s Tavern American Restaurant---to name a few. He wasn’t a stranger to hard work, and no position was beneath him, oftentimes entering a job as dishwasher, then progressing to prep cook, line cook, and wait staff. He was always willing to help out with newer employees or filling in extra hours as needed. Stacy’s long-term plan was to open a restaurant of his own.
Stacy leaves to cherish his memories and celebrate his life a loving mother, Darlene Renee Royal; his loving father, Stacy Travis Evans Sr.; his loving sister, Brijaana Rhea-Symone Smith Royal; paternal grandparents, William and Deloris Evans; two aunts, Mareba Archie and Kagiso Evans; one uncle, Meenka Evans; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
