Obituary For Curtis Robinson

The Governor of South Carolina advises to limit public gatherings to 50 guests or less to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Smith Funeral Home of Florence, LLC carefully considered this recommendation and ask that additional guest please participate via live-streaming if it is authorized by the family.

Private Funeral Service for Deacon Curtis Robinson will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, April 4, 2020 at J. O. & Annette Smith Memorial Chapel, 307 S. Johns St., Florence. Interment will follow in Church of Christ Cemetery, Hwy., 76, 4062 W. Palmetto St., Florence, directed by Smith Funeral Home of Florence, LLC.

Deacon Curtis Robinson, the son of the late Theodore Robinson and Bertha Cooper was born July 21, 1963 in Brooklyn, New York. On Sunday, March 29, 2020, he transitioned to his eternal home.

Deacon Curtis joined Church of Christ on Highway 76 in Florence, South Carolina in 2004. He was ordained as a Deacon in 2007.

He worked as a welder at Honda of South Carolina, where he retired after 10 years of service. Deacon Curtis was recently employed with Clarios in Florence, South Carolina.

In addition to his parents, Deacon Curtis was predeceased by his son, Cedric Robinson; and his brother, Daron Robinson.

Deacon Curtis Robinson leaves to cherish: his wife, Lillie Robinson; his five children, Derrick Davis, Darruis Robinson, Giovanni Robinson, Ricardi (Roberta) Ellison, and Rachel Ellison; ten grandchildren, to include a special grandson, Zhia’Ahyir Dickey, that was raised in the home, Nakiyah Eaddy, Jha’Yire Govia, Shemair Eaddy, Darruis Robinson, Jr, Zyon Ellison, Kiya Gary, Sydney Gary, Zyquarion Davis, and Katelyn Williams; three brothers, Barry (Carolyn) Robinson, Michael Robinson, and Carl (Sue) Robinson; and a host of uncles; aunts; nephews; nieces; cousins; other relatives; and friends.

During this time of reflection, let’s remember Deacon Curtis Robinson, as a servant of God, a loving husband, a proud father, a wonderful grandfather, a dear friend, an avid Dallas Cowboy fan, and a blessing to all. His loving spirit will be greatly missed by all.
