Jeanette O. Gray

Mrs. Jeanette O. Gray was born July 23, 1941, in Paterson, New Jersey. She was the daughter of the late James and Bertha (Ray) Odom. On July 3, 2021, Jeanette was called home to be with the Lord at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, South Carolina.

Jeanette accepted Christ in her life as her Lord and Savior and was baptized, at an early age. Jeanette attended many churches, a God-fearing person, who believed in the power of prayer.

She retired from Valley Hospital Ridgewood, New Jersey after 25 years of service in Environmental Services.

She was predeceased by her parents, James and Bertha (Ray) Odom; a son, Keith York; five sisters, Margaret Odom “Peaches” Brown, Ellen Vann, Priscilla Odom Wilson, Sylvia Odom, Frances Ross, and Gloria Gurley; four brothers, Arthur Johnson, Charles Avery, and James Copper; and a brother-in-law, Emil Esa; that went on high before her.

Jeanette leaves to cherish her memories: her devoted husband, who she loved dearly, Jake Gray; four daughters, Sherry Gaston of Newark, New Jersey, Sheena Curry Taylor (Charlie) of Darlington, South Carolina, Arlene Curry (Jean Francois) of Bayonne, New Jersey, and Susan Curry of East Orange, New Jersey; one son, SaRon Crenshaw; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruby Esa of Patterson, New Jersey and Florence Whitfield (Lloyd) of Chesapeake, Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
