Graveside Service for Reverend Johnnie Lee King & Mrs. Mae Ola King will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Ousleydale Missionary Baptist Church, 3288 Cedar Ridge Road, Hartsville, South Carolina, where the Pastor is Reverend A. D. Robinson.
On June 6, 1946, a beautiful baby girl was born to Willie Sr. and Eola Graham Scott in Hartsville, South Carolina. They called her “Mae Ola”. As a child, Mae Ola’s desire to help others was already established; Mae Ola spent much of her youth sitting at the feet of her elders, learning how to care for others while simultaneously caring for her younger siblings.
Mae Ola was educated in the Chesterfield County School System and graduated from Pine Forest High School. She served in a domestic capacity for many homes and families in the McBee community.
She leaves behind to mourn: a daughter, Dr. Athena M. King; a son, Vashon L. (Natasha Jackson) King; a granddaughter, Jasmine King; three grandsons, Jonathan Hough, Jaylen King, and Jayce King; a great-granddaughter, Kingsley Hough; a sister, Lois (Willie) Evans, Jr.; six brothers, Billy (Marlene) Scott, Arthur (Lillian) Scott, Ronald (Debra) Hawkins, Lindell Scott, Steve Scott, and Willie (Sabrina) Scott; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, other close relatives, friends, and extended church families.
Family Viewing will be held 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM Friday, February 5, 2021 at Mount Olive Word of Life, 812 South Sixth Street, Hartsville, South Carolina.
Please keep the family of Mrs. Mae Ola King in your thoughts and prayers.
I dedicated my entire radio broadcast to my two special friends on yesterday, I wanted to attend the services, but I felt my time and remembrances would be served better by honoring our friendship in song, words, and prayer. I received my CD from Troy Ramsey yesterday morning, and thank God I was able to delicate "A Charge to Keep I Have to Rev. King. I can hear him singing along in my Spiritual Ear.....and I say Lord have Mercy, and now I thank God for having mercy and not allowing sister Mae Ola to feel the lost of her love one. Now together again in their new Heavenly Paradise home forever..... Mildred Mingo-Kirkland......Heart still heavy, but we have gone the last earthly mile together.

O Lord, our God, thank you that you are our rock and fortress, we can always find refuge in you. You have said that whoever follows you will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. As the King Family (Athena/Vashon) feel the darkness of grief and sorrow at this time, shine your light on their life. Remind them that their hope is found in you. May your love surround them, your Spirit guide them, your voice cheer them, your peace calm them, your shield protect them, your wisdom arm them, wherever you may lead them. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. Brodderick Roary

I cried when Athena texted me you were being set free off the Ventilator yesterday. All I could say was Lord have Mercy. Sister Maeola, you and I became good friends in 1994 when you came over with you husband Pastor King when he wired on Home. And when we moved home in 2000 we became much closer. We were always happy to see each other at our MAT family reunions every 2nd weekend in August. You were my friend in life, and I will cherish our friendship until we meet again in Glory.
