Obituary For Patricia Wright
The Governor of South Carolina advises to limit public gatherings to 50 guests or less to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Smith Funeral Home of Florence, LLC carefully considered this recommendation and ask that additional guest please participate via live-streaming if it is authorized by the family.
A Private Funeral Service for Mrs. Patricia Anne Peterson Wright will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, February 6, 2021 at J. O. & Annette Smith Memorial Chapel, 307 South Johns Street, Florence, South Carolina. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens, directed by Smith Funeral Home of Florence, LLC.
Patricia Anne Peterson Wright, affectionately known as Tricia was born on March 17, 1957 to the late Elliott James Peterson and Mozella Murray Peterson in Florence, South Carolina. She was reared by the late Theodore Ashley. Tricia was called home to glory on January 29, 2021 after a three-year courageous rehabilitation from a stroke.
Tricia was a 1975 graduate of Wilson High School and attended Shaw University. She was formerly employed with Sav Way Food Stores and Florence School District One.
Tricia accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Southern Calvary Baptist Church.
She was a devoted, loving mother and grandmother. Tricia loved to have a good time and was the life of the party. Those who knew her were enriched by her huge personality, playful spirit and her beautiful smile. Tricia enjoyed reading books by African American authors and watching movies. She never met a stranger and could converse easily with any and every one about current events and life. She always enjoyed fellowshipping with family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters; Annie Mae Peterson Smith Sheppard “Mickey”, Ollie Mae Peterson Johnson and Allie Mae Peterson Green “Trudy”.
Left to cherish her memories are: her son, Passion Peterson of Columbia, South Carolina; her daughter, Leola Gibbons James (Jack) of Darlington, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Jacqueline and Jack James of Darlington, South Carolina; Arnaz and Aiden Peterson of Columbia, South Carolina; a brother, Mitchell Briggs of Baltimore, Maryland; a brother-in-law; Clyde Sheppard of Darlington, South Carolina; an aunt, Olivia Timmons (Thomas) of Florence, South Carolina; an uncle, Tally Murray of Baltimore, Maryland; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends
