Mrs. Bobbie Quinn was born in Tylertown, Mississippi, to the late Lucious and Ollie May Jenkins. Affectionately known as “Ms. Bobbie” by her grandsons, she met and fell in love with Mr. James Quinn. After a year of courtship, they were united in marriage on February 9, 1963. Their union was blessed with seven children: Lloyd Curtis, the late James Jenkins, Deborah Ann Jefferson, Sequita Quinn, Pamela Quinn, Tomeka Quinn, and Tanisha Quinn.
Seeking better opportunities for their growing family, Mrs. Bobbie and her husband relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana, where they built a beautiful life together. While living there, Mrs. Bobbie became a devoted member of Full Gospel Church of God in Christ, where her faith and service touched many lives. She was also a dedicated employee of The Archdiocese of New Orleans Catholic Charities, where she worked faithfully for 47 years.
In 2005, following Hurricane Katrina, Mrs. Bobbie and her family returned to Mississippi, where she continued to spread love, kindness, and joy to everyone she met.
Mrs. Bobbie leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband James Quinn; six loving children; twenty-two grandchildren, forty-three great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind nine sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Lucious and Ollie May Jenkins, six siblings, her son James Jenkins, and three grandsons — Jakai Quinn, Jeremy Curry, and Jermaine Curry.
Her beautiful spirit, wisdom, and laughter will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
“Don’t cry for me, just smile and remember me.”
