Dorcus Ann Key, age 88, departed this life on Thursday, August 13, 2026 in Danville, Kentucky.
Born on August 22, 1938, in Perryville, Kentucky and was the beloved daughter of the late Evelyn Brown Bottoms and the late Thomas Bottoms.
Dorcus was a dedicated member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Danville, Kentucky. She was a valued employee of American Greetings Corporation until her retirement. She also brought warmth and hospitality to many as a hostess at the Holiday Inn in Danville, Kentucky.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Henry Key, Jr. ; and her sister, Mary Alice Reeves.
Dorcus leaves to cherish her memory, her four children; three sons, James Perry (Linda) Key, Donnie Stewart Key and Rickey Lee Key; one daughter, Debra Gail (Bill) Taylor; four grandchildren, three great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Place: Smith-Jackson Funeral Home, 446 Bate Street, Danville, Kentucky
Burial following service will be at Hilldale Cemetery, Danville, Kentucky

To the family of Ms.Ann Key. We are so sorry for your loss. She was a very nice and kind lady. Whenever I saw her I always enjoyed talking to her. I would ask her if she was still working. She would smile and say yes. I remember her working at American Greetings. She loved people and was a very hard worker.This sweet lady will be missed.
