Obituary For Deacon James Carlton "Peanut" Robinson

On Thursday, October 28, 2021, God welcomed “Peanut” up to Heaven to get his mansion and his “blue” wings.

Deacon James “Peanut” Robinson was born December 12, 1950 to the late James Pegues and Annie Mae Liles.

He attended the Anson County Public Schools. He confessed Christ at an early age but would always tell you that no one is perfect. As a child, he attended Galilee AME Zion Church with his family. After marrying his beautiful wife, he joined Johnson Chapel Holiness Church. There, he became a Deacon. He also became “Uncle Peanut” to everyone.

Peanut was employed at John Faulkner Motor Company for many years. This is where he learned the ends & outs of running a business. The love he had for all types of vehicles opened the door to him being an entrepreneur for the rest of his life. He loved watching other people rub on cars while he stood there with his hands in his pockets and always yelling, “If you work hard, we’ll get you a nab and a drink.”

He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Annie Mae and Mack Liles; his father and stepmother, James and Loretta Pegues; two sisters, Maxine (Tilley) Liles and Denise Pegues; and mother-in-law, Mother Mae Bell Miller.

He leaves to forever cherish his loving memories, his devoted wife of 49 ½ years, Elder Mae Ellen Robinson; seven children, Darius Robinson, Charisse Tillman, Jermaine Lowery, Dawn Robinson, Elizabeth Robinson, Roynell Little and Ashley Robinson; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Wayne Pegues (Carolyn), Thomas Liles and Stevie Liles (Hannah); three sisters, Brenda Liles, Sharon Sturdivant (Lemuel) and Debra Pegues; one aunt, Margaret Robinson; one uncle, Butch (Annie) Pegues; a special cousin, Bernice Maye. A host of bonus children and God children (God blessed him with many); a ton of bonus grandchildren and even more special, bonus great grandchildren; and many other relatives, friends and a beloved church family.

The Homegoing Services will be on Thursday, November 4, 2021, 1:00pm, Smith Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will be in Westview Memorial Park, Highway 74-West, Wadesboro, North Carolina.

Face Mask/Coverings are REQUIRED to be worn during the viewing, visitation and services for the safety of the Robinson Family and our Staff.
