Mr. Alexander (Jiggs) McCormick, son of the late Cora Mae and James McCormick Sr., was born in Anson County, NC, on May 5, 1953. He departed this life on Thursday, September 19, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 71 years old.
He attended the Anson County public schools. At an early age, he confessed Christ and joined the West Deep Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Wadesboro, NC, where he remained a faithful member until his health declined.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Alexander Little; four brothers, John McCormick, James McCormick Jr., Raymond McCormick, and Haywood McCormick; and granddaughter, MaRyah Yearwood.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his daughter, Daphne Yearwood (Donald), Baltimore, Maryland; grandchildren, Donald Yearwood Jr., Ramyah Yearwood, Michael Yearwood, MaLeah Yearwood, and Audrey Yearwood. Four sisters, Phillis McCormick (Ronnie), Wadesboro, NC, Flora Little (Jimmy), Morven, NC, Dora Bennett (Arthaniel), Wadesboro, NC and Sallie Taylor (Tommy), Wadesboro, NC.
One aunt, Rosetta Bennett (Tim). A host of special nieces and nephews: Javen Maske, Wadesboro, NC, Raven Maske (Le’mon), Wadesboro, NC, Markeda Gaddy, Wadesboro, NC, Arthaniel Bennett Jr., Wadesboro, NC, Temeka Adams (James), Wadesboro, NC, Cortelia Taylor, Wadesboro, NC and Sylvester Little, Wadesboro, NC. Great nieces and great nephews: Alayah Gaddy, Makiyah Young, Jayden Moore, Darryl Richardson Jr., Prince Moore, Dequan Moore, Le’mon “LJ” Jones Jr., Aria Jones, Zuri Maske, Joshua Tyson, Malik Gaddy, James Adams, and Gage Adams. His girlfriend, Dora Little, Wadesboro, NC, and many more relatives and friends.
The Homegoing Services will be on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, 2:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salibury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will be in the family plot of the West Deep Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Wadesboro, North Carolina.
The McCormick Family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 from 1:30-2:00pm at Smith's Memorial Chapel and at all other times at the family residence.
The public viewing will be on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 from 2:00-5:00pm.
