Andrew Jackson Smith, 76, of Anson County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025, at Anson Health & Rehabilitation, Wadesboro, NC.
Born on September 2, 1948, in Anson County, Andrew was the son of the late Henry and Molly Smith.
He worked faithfully for many years at WR Bonsal, retiring after a long and dedicated career.
A man of quiet faith, Andrew was a former member of Henderson Grove Church.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Haywood Smith, and nephews Haywood Smith Jr. and Danny Smith.
Andrew is survived by his loving sister, Jennie Zimmerman, sister-inlaw, Sara Smith, niece, Rochelle Smith and nephew, Charlie Smith. He was also blessed with a bonus family—dear friends who became like family—including Nona Bennett, Flo Bennett, Alvin Bennett, and Felesha Bennett, all of Lilesville, North Carolina; and Donna Liles of Charlotte, North Carolina. Their love, care, and presence brought comfort, joy, and meaningful connection to his life, especially in his later years.
He also leaves to cherish a host of other relatives and friends who will forever remember his gentle spirit, quiet strength, and the warmth he shared with all who knew and loved him.
The Homegoing Services will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will be private at Westview.
