Mr. Anthony “Tony” Henderson, age 69, of Monroe, North Carolina, formerly of Woodbridge, Virginia peacefully departed this life on Monday, July 13, 2026 with his loving and devoted family by his side.
Anthony was an accomplished multi-sport athlete at Woodbridge Senior High School. It was there that he met the love of his life, Sharon Gray. Together, they shared 48 years of marriage, and she remained his faithful caregiver and loving wife until the very end.
Anthony was a dedicated worker who held various occupations throughout his life. He worked with the D.C.Government, TWA (Trans World Airlines), Appliance Connection, SECURCORP and lastly provided security for Giant Foods. Beyond his careers, he built a life anchored in deep faith, a strong work ethic, and an unwavering love for his family.
He will be fondly remembered for his great personality, his smile that could light up the darkest of rooms, and his immense kindness; he truly never met a stranger. Even on the days when he did not feel his best, Anthony always found the good in the day and was quick to remind those around him that "God is in Control."
Anthony was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Deacon Edward and Eleanor Henderson, and his cherished grandson, Jeremy.
In addition to his devoted wife, Sharon, he is survived by his children: Jennifer (Ryan) Love, Candice (Chad) Wilson, Anthony Christopher and Sean (Lisa) Henderson; his three grandchildren: LeKayla, Aidon, and Laniyah Love; and his loving siblings: Larry, Eddie, and Teresa Henderson. Anthony's warmth also extended to his granddogs: Yuki, Kuma, Bailey, Nala, and Rue, and his great granddog, Lola.
A Funeral Mass to Honor Mr. Henderson will be on Friday, July 31, 2026, 2:00pm, at Our Lady Of Angels Roman Catholic Church, 13752 Mary's Way, Woodbridge, Virginia 22191.
