Mr. Booker T. Sturdivant, was born on October 19, 1947, in Anson County, North Carolina.
Booker transitioned from labor of this life to eternal rest on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Atrium Health Union County Hospital in Monroe, North Carolina.
He attended the public schools of Anson County and graduated from J.R. Faison High School, Class of 1966.
Booker was a lifelong member of Johnson Chapel Holiness Church in Wadesboro, North Carolina, having attended as a child and throughout his adult life.
He worked at a menβs clothing store on 34th Street in New York City and later retired from Anson County Schools after many years of dedicated service.
Booker was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Booker T. Sturdivant Sr. and Mary Ruth Sturdivant, and two brothers, Donald and Wallace Sturdivant.
He is survived by two sisters, Effie Williamson (Norman Sr.) of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Mary T. Lindsey (Pastor John) of Polkton, North Carolina, and one brother, Leon Sturdivant (Lula) of Southern Pines, North Carolina.
He also leaves behind one aunt, Mildred Sturdivant of Wadesboro, North Carolina, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
All those who knew Booker will forever keep his memory in their hearts.
The Homegoing Services will be on Monday, February 3, 2025, 1:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will follow in the service.
The Sturdivant Family will be receiving friends on February 3, 2025 from 12:30-1:00pm at Smith's Memorial Chapel and at all other times at the residence of his sister and brother-in-law, Elder John and Mrs. Mary Lindsey, 241 Somerset Road, Polkton, North Carolina.

I am so sorry to hear about Booker passing. He was so nice when I seen him around Wadesboro and when I was in school. He was the best person in the world to make you laugh and he always had a smile on his face. Class of 1986 when I graduated he was there. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
