Mr. Clarence Willoughby Jr. entered into eternal rest on February 25, 2026 at Richmond County Hospice Haven, Rockingham, NC. He was born to the late Clarence Willoughby Sr. and Mary Lessie Royal Willoughby on January 6, 1948 in Anson County.
He attended the public schools of Anson County. Clarence enlisted in the United Sates Army and served his country with honor and dedication. During his time in the service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, a testament to his commitment and sacrifice. Additionally, he earned the Sharpshooter designation with the M-14 rifle, showcasing his exceptional skills and discipline. Clarance was honorably discharged, leaving behind a legacy of bravery and patriotism that will always be remembered. He retired from Hornwood Inc., Lilesville, NC after many years of dedicated service.
He was an active member of Gatewood Station AME Zion Church where he served on the Missionary Board, Steward Board and was a Class Leader. He was a member of the Sportsman Club, Morven, NC.
He was united in marriage to Linda Timmons Willoughby and fathered four children.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Linda Timmons Willoughby of the home; three daughters, Melisse Willoughby of Lilesville, NC, Cynthia (Craig) Harrington of Morven, NC and Donna (Kapatchy) Allen of Indian Trail, NC; one son, Clarence Willoughby III of Monroe, NC.
His loving grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he loved dearly: Kamesha, LaJohnny, Cayden, Devin, Darrius, Taylor, Dionna, Kayla and Roderick. Great grands, Nori, Jemauri, Islah, Ava, and Zari.
Four sisters, Mary Willoughby, Barbara (Billy) Cox, Sarah Little and Lee Doris Campbell; three brothers, Percy Willoughby, Baxter Willoughby and Earnest Royal. One brother, Franklin Royal, preceded him in death.
A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The Home Going Services will be on Sunday, March 1, 2026, 3:30PM, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will be in the Gatewood Station AME Zion Church Cemetery, Morven, North Carolina.
