Mr. Daniel Lewis LeGrande, the son of the late Jerry Lee Fairley and Tempie Chambers LeGrande was born July 16, 1962, in Montgomery County, North Carolina. Having made peace with God he entered eternal rest and His Eternal Home on December 28, 2023, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Charlotte, NC surrounded by his daughters and the unconditional love of family and friends.
Daniel graduated from West Montgomery High School and was a member of the class of 1982. He relocated to New Haven, Connecticut pursuing a fruitful career in transportation, accepting a myriad of roles while driving for several trucking companies in that area. After retirement, he returned to North Carolina.
“Boone” as he was fondly known by all of his many friends enjoyed watching sports (Carolina Panthers). He also enjoyed playing Bingo and other board games with his significant other, Yolanda Thompson. He was also an expert Handyman often assisting those in community with vehicles and anything needing repair.
He was a loving Father, Son, Brother Uncle, Nephew, and Friend to countless individuals that he met.
He was preceded in death by his Parents and 5 Siblings. Those left to cherish fond and loving memories are: Two Sons, Daniel and Rodrick Little (Tina) all of Troy, NC. Two Daughters: Danielle LeGrand of New Haven, Connecticut and Daish LeGrand of Greensboro, NC. Eleven Grandchildren: Nyziah, Xzozion, Ziona, Tekiya, Tekara, Terell, Rod’Asia, Rod’Amina, Alyra, India, and Makayla. Six Brothers: Nathaniel LeGrande, Dennis, Jerry, Michael, Tony, and Timothy Fairley all of Mt. Gilead, NC. Six Sisters: Mable Butler, Nancy LeGrande of Troy, NC, Frances Martin, Vickey Fairley, Janice Kluttz and Blondine Wilson (Pastor Steve) all of Mt. Gilead, NC. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The Homegoing Services will be on Thursday, January 4, 2024, 12:00pm, Mt. Airy AME Zion Church, Mount Gilead, North Carolina. Interment will follow in the Church Cemtery.
I'm so in shock I can't believe my friend is gone. I will always love you Dan. Truly heart broken right now.
Dan was a good guy always asked me was I still rapping and when was I going to take off with music and If I didn't want to do music get my CDLs and drive trucks. He always was a person to motivate the next person to do better in life and never down anybody and always helped where he could help. Dan you will be missed and thanks for the knowledge you gave me about truck driving and fixing on cars you know the important stuff a man suppose to know . Much love from your boy Munk Munk you will be missed rest easy.
