Obituary For MR. EDDIE LUNTZ LEDBETTER

Eddie Luntz Ledbetter was born on February 24, 1954 to the late Edgar Ledbetter and Mary Lee Clark Ledbetter. He was the 5th of 5 sons. He was the grandson of the late Spencer Ledbetter and Lou Chambers Ledbetter, and the late Honorable Rev. C.C. Clark and Effie Boggan Clark. He peacefully departed this life at Atrium Health Union Medical Center, Monroe, North Carolina on July 7, 2026.

Eddie confessed Christ as his personal Savior at the age of 13, was baptized and became a member of New Grove Baptist Church , Polkton, NC.

His educational journey began at East Union School in Marshville, then on to Forst Hills High School through 11th grade, then he chose to obtain his GED at Anson Technical College in 1972, which allowed him to still be with the Class of 1972.

Eddie had very strong work ethics. He had tenure with 3 major companies, Festival Homes in Marshville, NC, Cooper Tools in Monroe, NC, and his last job with Stock Components in Monroe, NC, where he retired after 33 years.

Eddie was a friendly person with a gentle and kind spirit. He enjoyed family events, and he truly loved his family. He had a deep love of music, and his genre was music from the 70's era, especially the classics of Parliament/Funkadelic, which branded him with the nickname of “Funkadelic” by his closest friends. He had several hobbies, but to name a few, he loved fishing, hunting, TV, and science fiction movies....... and “trying to play his guitar.”

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents, and 3 older brothers, Joe, Roger, and Walter Ledbetter.

Remaining to cherish memories of Eddie are his 3 daughters: Sabrina McClendon, Chinita Allen Joesph, and Dr. Deirdre M. Ingram; 2 grandsons, Leonte and Timothy; 4 granddaughters, Cera, Mariah, Diobilique and Nevaeh; and 2 very special great grands, King and Layla. His only sister, Sharon Ledbetter, who was his caregiver and was by his side for years as his health began to fail. One brother, James Ledbetter (Angela); sister-in-law, Joyce Ledbetter; 8 nieces; 1 nephew; 11 great nieces; 6 great nephews; several great great nieces and nephews, and an extremely large number of cousins that are very special in our family and are very close and loving, whom will all miss Eddie very much, but will cherish the memories forever.
