Obituary For MR. HOWARD FRANKLIN DEBERRY

Mr. Howard Franklin DeBerry, son of the late James DeBerry and Cornelia Smith DeBerry, was born in Chesterfield County, South Carolina, on May 14, 1930.

He departed this life peacefully on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Meadowview Terrace Assisted Living in Wadesboro, North Carolina, where he had made his home since relocating from New Jersey.

Mr. DeBerry attended the public schools of Anson County. He later began his career with CSX Railroad, where he worked faithfully until his retirement.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Beatrice Broadie DeBerry. To this union, one son was born, Howard Lee DeBerry. Both his beloved wife, Beatrice, and his son, Howard, preceded him in death.

Those left to forever cherish his precious memories include his five grandchildren: Lynzetta DeBerry Carr (Theodore), who lovingly served as his caretaker; Danny Tyson; Janet DeBerry; Howard Leon DeBerry; and Christine Sharper; 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.

Mr. DeBerry was a loving father, grandfather, and friend. He was known for his kind and welcoming spirit and truly never met a stranger. His warmth, generosity, and genuine love for others touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Though he is no longer with us, the memories of his life, his love, and the impact he made on those around him will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever."

The Homegoing Celebration with his beloved family was held on Friday, October 9, 2026, 11:00am, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina.
