Mr. James Curtis Lindsey, lovingly called “Curtis”, was born July 6, 1943, to Weldon Lindsey and Henrietta McIver Lindsey. He departed this life on August 11, 2025, at the age of 82.
He was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Bernice Lindsey; son, Willie Huntley; mother, Henrietta McIver Lindsey; father, Weldon Lindsey; five sisters, Bertha Chambers, Vera Lindsey, Shirley Perkins, Diane McNair and Cassie Watson; and three brothers, Weldon Lindsey, Jr., Walter Lindsey, Sr. and John Lindsey, Sr.
Curtis attended the public schools of Anson County. He retired after working many years in Construction.
He confessed Christ as his savior at an early age.
He leaves to cherish forever his memories, three grandchildren, Willis Huntley of Peachland, North Carolina, Natasha (Theo) Greene of Ruby, South Carolina and Brook (Adrian) Hancock of Monroe, North Carolina; nine great grandchildren; one brother, Freddie (Nancy) Lindsey of Charlotte, North Carolina; five sisters, Louise Marshall of Cheraw, South Carolina, Bobby (Charlie) Wilson of Cheraw, South Carolina, Carol (Rayford Lee) Johnson of Marshvillle, North Carolina; Linda Lindsey of Morven, North Carolina and Lesley Love of Morven, North Carolina. A host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who loved him dearly.
The Services to Celebrate the Life and Legacy of Mr. Lindsey will be on Saturday, August 16, 2025, 2:00 pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will follow at Galilee AME Zion Church Cemetery, McFarlan, North Carolina.
The Family will greet family and friends on Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 1:30-2:00 pm and at all other times at the residence.
The public viewing will be on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 3:30-5:30 pm at Smith’s Funeral Home.
I was fortunate to know Curtis as a friend and neighbor in the McFarlan community. He always made one feel special with his friendly and outgoing personality. He will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers are extended to the Lindsey family. Perry Johnson McFarlan, NC
