Mr. James Thomas Gaddy, lovingly known as “Wade” the son of the late John W. Gaddy and Lena Mae Willoughby Gaddy was born on December 30, 1954. He departed this life on April 8, 2026 at Atrium Health Union, Monroe, NC.
He attended the public schools of Anson County. He confessed Christ at an early age and was a faithful member at Gatewood Station A.M.E. Zion Church, Morven, NC.
He dedicated over 21 years of his life to I.G.A., where his warm spirit and smile touched the lives of countless customers and coworkers. Wade had a remarkable ability to connect with people, forming friendships that spanned years. His dedication to his work and his community made him a beloved figure, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was married to the late Clissie Bennett Gaddy and to that union were born two children, Christopher and Kimphany Gaddy.
In addition to his parents, James and Lena Mae Gaddy he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Eddie Lee Ratliff and James Huntley.
He leaves to cherish and mourn three children, Christopher (Gail) Gaddy and Kimphany Gaddy both of Charlotte, NC and Kristie Campbell (Roderick) of Wadesboro, NC. A devoted companion, Cassandra Rivers of the home. Two grandchildren, Kelisha Jackson and Keyonia Jackson. One great grandson, Za’Karion. One grand puppy, CoCo Chanel Gaddy.
Seven sisters: Mary Betty Ratliff, Linda Huntley (Henry McBryde), Lounette Gaddy, Bernice Gaddy, Thelma Gaddy, Charlie Mae Gaddy and Pearletta Gaddy. Three sisters-in-law, Maggie Staton, Deronia Bennett and Carol Falls. One brother-in-law, Click Bennett, Jr., a host of nieces, nephews, cousins
The Homegoing Services will be on Sunday, April 12, 2026, 2:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will be private.

James and Al worked on the farm together growing up. They had a lifetime of mutual respect for each other, calling each other brother when they would see each other. The entire Gaddy family meant a lot to the Griffin family. We are so sorry for your loss.
