JB Stewart, Jr., also known as “Big Baby,” peacefully gained his wings early Saturday morning, June 1, 2024.
He was a loving son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to all. He will truly be missed.
JB was born February 12, 1963, to Glover Mae Neal Stewart and the late JB Stewart Sr.
He attended Bowman High School, graduating with the Class of 1981. He worked at Cuddy Farms for many years and retired after many years of dedicated service. He then became employed at Cobb-Vantress, where he also retired after many years of dedicated service.
At an early age, he gave his life to Christ and joined Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a faithful member until his health declined. He was an active choir member and served the church in any capacity needed.
JB was preceded in death by his father, JB Stewart Sr.; sister, Stacy Stewart; brothers, Gary, Cleveland, and Stevie Stewart; nephew, Jerry “June” Little Jr.; and uncle, David Neal.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Glover Mae Stewart, of the home; his siblings, Gloria Wall (James) of Lilesville, NC, Helen Little (Jerry) of Wadesboro, NC; Tony Stewart (Mildred) of Wadesboro, NC, Gregory Stewart of Wadesboro, NC, Dennis Stewart (Lena) of Wadesboro, NC, Shaun Stewart of Charlotte, NC and Mitchel Stewart (Diletta) of Winston Salem, NC. A special cousin who was raised as a brother, Walter Neal.
His aunts, Ruby Kirby (David) of Wadesboro, NC, Elizabeth Wood of Baltimore, MD, and Jessie “Sue” Neal of Wadesboro, NC; uncles, James Neal (Belinda) of Fayetteville, NC, and Eugene Stewart of New Jersey.
A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and an abundance of family and friends.
The Homegoing Services will be on Friday, June 7, 2024, 3:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will be in the family plot of the Pleasant Hill AME Zion Church Cemetery, Wadesboro, North Carolina.
