Obituary For Mr. Jerry Lee McRae

Jerry Lee McRae, age 62, died peacefully on February 14, 2025 at Atrium Health Cabarrus, Concord, NC. Jerry was born September 28, 1962 in Troy, NC, the son of the late John and Blanche McRae.

Jerry attended the public schools of Anson County and graduated from Bowman Senior High in Wadesboro, NC. After graduation, he went to work at McLeod Box Factory, Wadesboro, NC. He was also employed by Wiscasset Mills, Albemarle, NC.

Jerry was a resident of Britthaven also known as Bethany Woods Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in Albemarle, NC for 15 years. In Jerry’s past time, he liked to play bingo and make people laugh. He loved music, dancing and being around his family.

In addition to his parents, John and Blanche McRae, Jerry was preceded in death by his sister, Lynette Gilchrist and a special friend, Rita Watkins.

He leaves to cherish fond memories to his siblings: four brothers, Steve (Charlene) McRae of Albemarle, NC, Travis Waden of High Point, NC, Ryan Dumas and Roshun Dumas both of Mt. Gilead, NC; five sisters, Anita Lilly of Winston Salem, NC, Clara (Walter) Harden of Ansonville, NC, Johnetta (Antonio) Ross of High Point, NC, Cynthia Snyder of Fayetteville, NC and Valerie McRae of Albemarle, NC.

One Maternal aunt, Frances (Perry) Ingram of Ansonville, NC and four paternal aunts, Florence (Rufus) Parker of High Point, NC, Rosemary Pemberton of Mt. Gilead, NC, Valerie (Vernon) Clark McLendon of Charlotte, NC and Eva (Grayland) McRae of Mt. Gilead, NC; two uncles, Arthur McRae (Dorothy, deceased) of Hampton, Virginia and Vernon (Peggy) McRae of Mt. Gilead, NC. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service to Honor the Life and Legacy of Mr. McRae will be on Saturday, February 22, 2025, 3:30pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salsibury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina.
