Obituary For Mr. John Kirby

Mr. John Alexander Kirby was born December 14, 1939 to the late Kit and Pauline Kirby in Ansonville, North Carolina. John received his eternal wings on April 7, 2023.

John attended West Ansonville High School. He retired from West Castle after many years of service.

He was baptized in Christ at an early age and joined Rocky Mounty AME Zion Church where he remained faithful serving: Lay Council, Usher and member of the Choir.

John loved to fish and ENJOYED sitting in his recliner and watching TV.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Johnsie E. Kirby and brothers, Frank Kirby, Lee Kirby, Lee Edward Kirby, Clarence Kirby and Richard Kirby.

Left to forever cherish fond memories are his children: Betty Little (Henry), Pamela Breeden (James), Sherri Tyson, John Leak (Ida) and William Johnson (Tara); 16 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren. Two sisters, Arlene and Curlean; two brothers, James (Joyce) and Jack. A host of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. A special grandson, Pierre Kirby. Special caregiver, Margie Davis. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The Homegoing Services will be on Saturday, April 15, 2023, 10:30am at Rocky Mount AME Zion Church, Ansonville, NC. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

The public viewing will be on Friday, April 14, 2023 from 3:30-5:30.
