Johnny Ray Hough, affectionately known to family and friends as "Punken" and "Wolf," was born on November 13, 1966, to the late Raphel Hough and Laney Tillman Hough. He peacefully departed this life on Sunday, December 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving children and family.
Johnny attended the public schools of Anson County. He committed his life to Christ at an early age and joined Flakes Chapel Baptist Church, Wadesboro, NC. He was employed by Black Realty (the late Freddie Black), Wadesboro, NC and worked for many years at Pilgrim's Pride in Marshville, NC.
Johnny was known for his kindness to everyone he met. He loved his family and friends, enjoyed dancing, and was often the life of the party. His sweet spirit brought laughter to those around him, making him truly one of a kind.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Hough; his sister, Diane Bowman; and four nieces and one nephew.
Johnny leaves to cherish his memories his loving mother, Laney Hough of Wadesboro, NC; two children: son, Bryan Cedric Pratt (Kimberly) of Lilesville, NC, and daughter, Katrina Denise Pratt of Lilesville, NC; and a stepdaughter, Lathasa Pratt of Lilesville, NC. He also leaves behind a special granddaughter, Dariana Pratt; three grandsons, Garrett Pratt, Caderick Pratt and Cedrick Pratt; two sisters, Marilyn Freeman (Stanton) of Wadesboro, NC and Terressa Marsh (Glendale) of Wadesboro, NC; three brothers, Carey Hough (Veronica) of Wadesboro, NC, Anthony Hough of Wadesboro, NC and Tommy Hough of Wadesboro, NC; one uncle, Ray Hamilton (Donna) of Waxhaw, NC; and one aunt, Mattie Parker of Wadesboro, NC.
Additionally, he is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, close relatives and friends including Joe Wall, Twanda Pratt, Carolyn Bennett, Thelma Gaddy, Henry “Rabbit” McNeil, Chester, Nathaniel, and brother-in-law, Everett “Milkman” Bennett.
The Homegoing Services will be on Sunday, January 4, 2026, 2:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery, Wadesboro, North Carolina.
