Obituary For MR. LEE THOMAS KIRKLEY

Lee Thomas Kirkley, lovingly known to his family and friends as “Scobie” was born November 8, 1954 to the late Benjamin and Viola Kirkley. He peacefully departed this life on June 29, 2026 at Atrium Health-Union Hospital, in Monroe, NC surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Lee Thomas attended the public schools of Anson County. He worked for Edwards Wood Products for years and later joined the staff of Select Genetics Farms where he worked diligently and faithfully until he retired.

Lee Thomas turned his life around and attended Victory Temple Holliness Church of Wadesboro, NC and was active until his health declined. He enjoyed playing spades, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Lee Thomas was a loving brother, uncle, and a great friend to many.

Preceding him in death are two brothers: Raeford Lee Kirkley, and Robert Lee Kirkley; and three sisters: Myrtle Harrington, Annie Mae Little, and Fannie Bell Little.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his siblings: Frank (Maxine) Kirkley, John David (Esther) Kirkley, Dorothy Melton, and William Henry Kirkley all of Morven, NC and Lexey Lewis of Rockingham NC. A sister- in-law, Betty Knotts Kirkley of Wingate, NC. A dear and special friend Deacon John Huntley Sr. of Morven, NC.

A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The Homegoing Services will be on Sunday, July 12, 2026, 1:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will be in the Sandy Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, Morven, North Carolina.
