Mr. Michael Leonard Clark (Mike), the youngest born of Nathaniel Sr. and Leola Clark, was born on December 8, 1962, in Stanly County, North Carolina. He departed this life on March 11, 2025 at his home in Norwood, North Carolina.
In his early years he received education in Anson County Public School System. He was a 1981 graduate of South Stanly High School in Norwood, North Carolina. During his early adult years, he was employed at Collins & Aikman and later at Cassie Cotillion.
Everyone who knew him knew how much he loved his family, especially his son and grandchildren. He also had a soft spot for his nieces and nephews. Mike loved showing his love by spending quality time with them, from walking each newborn baby around the house, taking the younger ones on walks around town, and grilling out with the older ones during nice weather.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother of the home, Leola Clark; son, Michael Lee Clark of Albemarle, North Carolina; grandchildren, SaโMaya Mathis, Obari Onukogu, Michael Lee Clark III, and Jayce Clark. Siblings: Mary Clark of Maryland; Nathaniel Clark Jr. of Norwood, North Carolina; Marilyn Hunter of Wadesboro, North Carolina; Johnny Clark (Cynthia) of Mt. Gilead, North Carolina; Doris Baldwin (Philip) of Norwood, North Carolina; Bobby Clark (Augusta) of Norwood, North Carolina; Anja Singleton of Union City, Georgia; and Linda Lindsey of Durham, North Carolina. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nathaniel Clark Sr., brother-in-law, Jimmy Hunter, and sister-in-law, Erma Clark.
The Homegoing Services will be on Sunday, March 16, 2025, 1:00pm, Smithโs Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will be in the Clark Family Plot at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Ansonville, North Carolina.
The services will be live-streamed on Facebook at H.C.Smith Funeral Home.
The Public viewing will be on Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 2:30-5:00pm.
