MR. ROGER LEE RORIE, SR., finished his race by God’s grace! Roger was born April 20, 1962, to the late Brutus Caesar Rorie, Sr. and Dorothy Spencer Rorie, in Wadesboro, North Carolina. He transitioned from this earthly life to his Heavenly Home, April 6, 2023, surrounded by his loving and devoted wife, Pamela Knotts Rorie and loving family.
ROGER exemplified the phrase “see a sermon” and lived a joyous life. He attended the public schools of Anson County and worked many years in residential maintenance before retiring with Vaughn Ricketts Contracting. He was often requested by name for his ability to install concrete. If Roger was not working or spending time with family, you could locate Roger at a fishing bank, softball field, card table or TV screen watching his favorite football team-The Pittsburgh Steelers. A few years ago, Roger’s dream of attending a National Football League game came true when he and his son-in love graced Bank of America Stadium to watch the Carolina Panthers play the Pittsburgh Steelers. In recent years, you could locate Roger on any given day at Lady Bug restaurant enjoying a hot meal and laughter with friends.
ROGER was known as Baker, Pitbull, Daddy, Papa Roger, and Uncle Roger. Chiefly he was an authentic human being who exhibited wisdom and confidence in every space he entered. If you listened to him chat long enough, you would experience his wittiness through a joke. He was preceded in death by his Father-Brutus Caesar Rorie, Sr., Father-James Leak, Sr., Granddaughter-Anastasia Ray, Brother-James Rorie, Sister-Shirley Ratliff, Brothers-in-love, Kenneth Reid and Nathaniel Knotts, Sisters-in-love, Peggy Knotts Chambers and Loretta Knotts Christon, and Best Friend-James Franklin Little, Jr.
ROGER leaves to cherish his loving memories: his wife of almost 27 years, Pamela Knotts Rorie of the home; bonus daughter, Dr. Takeda (Honorable Thomas) LeGrand of Wingate, NC; son, Roger Lee Rorie, Jr., “Petee” (Tammy Kersey) of Rockingham, NC, son, Derrick Prince (LaPorsha Pouncy) of High Point, NC, son, Taquan Lotharp of Monroe, NC; daughter, Shenethia Lotharp of Lilesville, NC, daughter, Jakia Melton of Morven, NC; sisters, Doris Reid and Gwendolyn Little of Morven, NC, Cassandra Brown (Kevin), Sherry Williams (Joe), Tonya Rorie (Eddie Cox), and Sandra Leak of Wadesboro NC, Magdalene (Rev.
