With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we gather today to celebrate the life of Mr. Ronnie Filmore Williams, who departed this life on Friday, August 21st, 2026 at his home in Albemarle, NC.
Ronnie, affectionately known as, “Rooster”, “Chicken Hawk” was born December 11th, 1946 in Stanly County, NC to the late, Hiram “Dock” and Erline “Polly” Williams.
Ronnie was educated at West Badin High Schol in Badin, NC, and was a graduate of the Class of 1965. Ronnie was one of a kind, whose presence could never be overlooked. Besides his larger-than-life personality, he was a man who loved his children, family and friends.
Ronnie was employed by Alcoa Aluminum Plant for 30 years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed doing yard work, playing and listening to old music, fishing, and just riding around.
Ronnie is preceded in death by both parents; his wife, Mrs. Mary Williams; a daughter, Renee Williams; a grandson, John Piere; sisters: Vanessa Worthington and Dorothy Davis; brothers: Henry Rush, Louis Peoples, and Donald Williams; and niece, Donna Hodges.
Left to Cherish his memory are: four daughters: Cheryl Williams, Donna Williams of Albemarle, NC, Myra Little and Myleka Williams of Asheboro, NC; one son, Ronnie Filmore Williams Jr. of Candor, NC; sisters: Linda (Michael) Patterson of Jamestown, NC and Patricia (James) Norman of Greensboro, NC; brother, Willie (Sherean) Williams of New London, NC and Lonnie Williams of Albemarle, NC; 10 grandchildren: Tia, Tevarus (Marsha), Latesha, Latarius, Nequisha, Breyunna, Zoya, Jahmius, Amamon, and Kel-le. 21 great grandchildren. Nephews: Donald (Ericka) Williams and Brian (Tish) Williams. Cousins reared as siblings: Marie McDonald, Calvin Peoples, Charles Peoples, and Roger Williams. One very special friend, Annie “Louise” Harris.
Special friends: Melvin Hooker, Bill Brown, Richard Leake, Michael Lilly, Roger Williams, Richard Ray, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The Homegoing Services will be on Monday, August 31, 2026, 12:00pm, 39289 Wright Road, New London, North Carolina. Interment will be at Oakview Cemetery, 45200 Gadson Road, New London, North Carolina.
The Williams Family will greet family and friends on Monday, August 31, 2026 from 11:30am-12:00pm at Shiloh Baptist Church and at all other times at the family residence.
The public viewing will be on Sunday, August 30, 2026 from 1:00-5:00pm at Smith's Funeral Home.

Words are hard to come by to express my condolences to the family, especially to his girls. Everyone loved Ronnie(Rooster) and he will be truly missed. I'll miss seeing him on the hill almost daily. May God grant peace and comfort.
