Mrs. Annie Smith Ingram (also known as Gal and Shot) age 80 of Wadesboro, NC departed this earthly life at 5:55am in the comfort of her home accompanied by her two daughters. She loved her family more than words and actions could possibly express until the very end.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was a devoted member of Piney Grove Holiness Church Hwy. 109 Wadesboro, NC. She served on the Trustee Board, Finance Committee, Church Secretary and Choir Member. She was always willing to step on whenever needed but always saying keep me in the background. She never wanted the attention on her stating, “All she wanted was for God to be Glorified.”
She graduated from West Ansonville High School, Class of 1964. There she met and then married the late Walter Nataniel Ingram. This union created three children.
Annie was employed as a seamstress at Cassie Cotillion in Norwood, NC for several years until they closed then with Medical Specialties in Wadesboro, NC until her retirement in 2018.
In addition to her parents, Clifton and Lela Smith, her husband, Walter Nathaniel Ingram; she was preceded in death by their infant son, Baby Boy Ingram; three sisters: Marilyn Smith Little, Arwilla Smith Dowell and Amanda Smith Richardson; two brothers, Jesse Lee Smith and Lacy “Monroe” Smith.
Her precious memories will be forever cherished in the hearts of her two daughters, Natalie Ingram of Albemarle, NC and Kenya Townsend (Anthony) of Charlotte, NC. Two precious grandchildren, Karrington and Kaleb Townsend of Charlotte, NC. Two sisters, Elder Lillye Horne of Wadesboro, NC and Brenda Smith Williams of Greensboro, NC. Two brothers, Clifton Smith Jr. (Bertha) and Glenn Smith both of Wadesboro, NC. Three sisters-in-law, Katie Little of Delaware, Doris J. Martin of Troy, NC and Appadella McPhatter (Charles) of Ansonville, NC. Three brothers-in-law, Lewis Dowell of Charlotte, NC, Delman Lee Ingram (Helen) and Perry Ingram (Frances) both of Ansonville, NC. A host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The Homegoing Services will be on Saturday, June 14, 2025, 4:00pm, Smith’s Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will be in the family plot of the Piney Grove Church Cemetery.
There will be no public viewing.
