Doretha Rorie Sellers, 92 years old, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, was born January 16th, 1933, in Anson County to the late Clyde and Katie Chambers Rorie. She transitioned to her heavenly home on April 9th, 2025, at her daughter’s home under the care of Hospice.
She accepted Christ and joined Meltonville Baptist Church at an early age. She served as the President of the Missionary at Meltonville for several years and in the Zion Women’s Missionary Auxiliary. She had a compassion for serving and giving, taking care of others in their time of need and giving thought and consideration to missionaries helping the needy in foreign countries.
She attended school in Anson County and graduated from West Deep Creek High School. Afterwards, she attended cosmetology school. She worked at Polkton Manufacturing and Comar Industries, where she retired but continued to work in her passion for hair styling.
She was joined in holy matrimony to John P. Sellers, married 52 years. To this union, they had three children: Napoleon, Emmanuel, and Darlena. She is preceded in death by her husband, and son, Napoleon Sellers.
She leaves to cherish one son, Emmanuel Sellers (Arlinda) of Wingate, NC; one daughter, Darlena Huggins (Allen) of Monroe, NC; two stepdaughters, Angela Rivers (Roy) of Charlotte, NC, and Debra Wallace (Kenny) of Charlotte, NC; and one stepson, Terry Fordham of Charlotte, NC. She leaves to cherish seven grandchildren: Mallory Cox, Trinity Sellers, Elijah Sellers, Quinton Huggins, Teyah Allen (Terence), Amauri, and Ashaurrea Smith, and two great-grandchildren. She leaves to cherish one loving sister, Lacolya Crowder of Wingate NC; one brother-in-law, Jasper Sellers (Shirley) of Spring Hill, Florida; five sisters-in-law: Beulah Mae Redfern of Wadesboro, NC, Rosetta Bennett of Albemarle, NC, Ladoris Sellers, Monroe, NC, Margaret Knots (Jimmy) of Charlotte, NC and Ruby Sellers, Charlotte, NC. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
The Sellers Family will greet family and friends on Friday, April 18, 2025 from 12:30-1:00pm at Meltonville Baptist Church, Peachland, North Carolina and from Monday-Thursday (April 14-17, 2025) from 12:00pm-8:00pm at the Mother Sellers residence in the Meltonville Community, Peachland, North Carolina.
The public viewing will be on Thursday, April 17, 2024 from 2:30-5:00pm.
