Obituary For MRS. EMMA RUTH CAPLE
Ms. Emma Ruth Medley Caple was born September 8, 1945 to the late Frank and Dotsie Dockery Medley in Richmond County, NC.
Ruth, as she was lovingly called her departed this earthly life on September 14, 2026 at Atrium Health Anson to go and be with her Lord and Savior and to join her entire Medley family.
Ruth attended the public schools of Montgomery County. After graduating, she became a homemaker for many years until her last baby was well into school. She spent her adult years taking care of family, friends, and strangers.
Because of her love of caring for people, she became a CNA and worked for St. Josephโs Home Health and later for Essential Living Homecare Services.
Because of her big heart and kind spirit she was loved by all who came in contact with her.
Miss Emma, Miss Ruth, Grandma, Big Momma, Big Girl, Aunty and Mommy will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Ms. Ruth was preceded in death by her son, Lonnie; a daughter, Angela; and her love, Lonnie Rorie whom we know was waiting with open arms.
Those left to cherish her many memories are her two devoted daughters, Minister Perle Taylor (Marshall) of Polkton, NC and Shanda Lowery (John) of Lilesville, NC; her loving grandchildren: Saniktra Taylor, Marshall Taylor Jr. (Bri), Datrell Lowery (Kayla), Shania Rorie, Rylee Taylor, Athena Carter (Wayne), Fred McNeil Jr., Fredrina Bryrd, Lamar McNeil, Leonard Kirby and Alexander Kirby; great grandchildren: Nuriyah Taylor, Colby, Caleb, and Canari Lowery; Zarriah, Zamye, Zion, and Zyre Carter.
One brother-in-law, James Rorie Sr. of Lilesville, NC; two sisters-in-law, Alice Medley and Annie Medley both of Lilesville, NC; two special nieces, Elizabeth Hough and Evangelist Josphine Wall and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Two special friends that loved her dearly: Bettye Ingram and Robert Liles.
The Homegoing Service will be on Sunday, September 20, 2026, 3:00pm at Smithโs Funeral Home, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina.
Interment will be at Flat Rock 52 Memorial Cemetery,
Wadesboro, North Carolina.
The family will greet family and friends on Sunday from 2:30-3:00 and at all other times at the residence of her daughter, Minister Perle Taylor in Polkton, North Carolina.
The public viewing will be on Saturday from 2:30 to 5:30 PM.
The services will be livestreamed from this page and on Facebook at H.C. Smith Funeral Home.
