Mrs. Etta Ruth Stanback Robinson, daughter of the late Nathan and Louise Byrd Stanback, was born on June 23, 1940, in Wadesboro, North Carolina. She peacefully departed this life on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Atrium Health Union in Monroe, North Carolina.
Ruth was a faithful member of Parsons Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she served with dedication for many years. As one of the beloved mothers of the church, she once served as vice president of the senior choir and chairperson of the kitchen committee until her health began to decline.
Ruth was employed with the Anson County School System until her retirement. She spent many years at Peachland-Polkton Elementary School, where she found great joy in working with the children and supporting their growth.
She deeply valued time with her family and was a loving and devoted mother to her two sons, Curtis and Kelvin, whom she considered the greatest blessings of her life. She was also a cherished sister, aunt, and friend to many.
In addition to her late parents, Nathan and Louise Byrd Stanback, Ruth was preceded in death by her brothers, Samuel and Daniel Stanback, and Lee Ingram.
Etta Ruth leaves to cherish her loving memory her two sons, Roy Curtis Robinson (Terry) of Morven, NC, and Roger Kelvin Robinson of Wadesboro, NC; two step-grandchildren, Kelli Carter of Greensboro, NC, and Tommy Carter of Iowa; four sisters, Ella Ree Flowers, Edith Rorie (James) of Lilesville, NC, Emily Little of Morven, NC, and Gloria Tillman of Wadesboro, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; special cousin, Esther Bennett; special neighbor, Jackie Liles; Ellison Cash, along with her former colleagues at Peachland-Polkton Elementary School; and her beloved church family. She will forever be remembered for her gentle spirit, kind and giving heart, steadfast faith, and her wonderful cooking.
The Homegoing Services will be on Saturday, November 8, 2025, 1:00pm, Parsons Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Lilesville, North Carolina. Interment will be in the family plot of the Church Cemetery.
