Funeral Services to Celebrate the Life and Legacy of Mrs. Tyson will be on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Rocky Mount A.M.E. Zion Church, 465 Grassy Island Road, Ansonville, North Carolina. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
The Tyson Family will receive family and friends on Sunday, March 1, 2026 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Rocky Mount A.M.E. Zion Church. They will also welcome visitors at the Tyson residence beginning Monday, February 23, 2026 from 3:00PM - 7:00 PM.

I did not have the pleasure of personally meeting Mrs. Ollie L. Kirby Tyson... but I do feel as if did meet Mrs. Tyson through her spirited daughter, Valeria. Valeria exhibits a distinct strength and passion - instilled no doubt from the life example of her dear mother. The glowing tributes, from those that did know Mrs. Tyson, provide evidence to that sentiment. To Valeria, her entire family, and all who loved Mrs. Tyson, I celebrate with you the life of a woman who will obviously be missed by many. May you be comforted in this moment knowing that YOU are her legacy, and she will never be forgotten. I pray that Mrs. Ollie L. Kirby Tyson Soar in Splendor.

When I heard of the Passing of Mrs Olie Tyson I have so many memories what I will treasure most is her and her husband being a role model to me.
