We pause to pay tribute to the precious memory of our beloved Mrs. Pettie Bell McNeil who peacefully took her earthly leave at her daughter’s home. The merciful finger of God touched His servant and granted His everlasting peace and serenity on September 12, 2022.
Pettie Bell McNeil was born on May 13, 1941, to the late Eugene and Daisy Bell Ratliff in Chesterfield, SC. She was the youngest of three children. Pettie confessed Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Level Baptist Church. She reaffirmed her faith years later.
She was married to the late Alexander McNeil. They married on June 23, 1960. To this union two children were born.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Min. Kendra (David) Watson of Cheraw, SC; two bonus daughters Jeanette Sturdivant of Greensboro, NC and Erica Chapman of Cheraw, SC; eight grandchildren, Christopher Marsh of Morven, NC; Kaydra (Dwayne) McCoy of Cheraw, SC; Sedric (Erica) Watson of Monroe, NC; Kashundra Watson of Cheraw, SC, Tyrell Morris (Kendra) of Virginia Beach, VA; Justin Chapman of Texas; Lottesha Chapman of Cheraw, SC and Lynnishia Chapman of Missouri; twenty great-grandchildren; stepsisters, Sarah Lisenby Barber and Martha Ann Philyaw; stepbrother, Billy Lisenby; two aunts, Mrs. Janice Ratliff and Mrs. Frances Ratliff both of Morven, NC. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents, Pettie was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Lynn McNeil; her brothers, Eugene Ratliff, Jr. and Jerome Ratliff; and her stepmother, Ida Bell Ratliff.
The Homegoing Services will be on Saturday, September 24, 2022, 3:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will be in the family plot of the Mount Level Baptist Church Cemetery, Chesterfield, South Carolina.
The Family will greet family and friends on Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 2:30-3:00pm at Smith's Memorial Chapel and at all other times at the residence of the daughter, Kendra Watson, 78 Henry Powe Lane, Cheraw, South Carolina.
The public viewing for Mrs. McNeil will be on Friday, September 23, 2022 from 3:30-6:00pm at Smith's Funeral Home.
