Bertha Mae Anderson (Bert) was born February 25, 1939 to the late Pear and Druise Williams in Anson County. Bert dedicated her life to Christ at an early age at her home church Garris Grove. She attended the Anson County school system. She graduated from West Ansonville High School. After graduating, she moved to Washington, DC, where she worked at Washington Hospital Center in the laundry department for many years.
While residing in DC, she met the love of her life, Leroy Anderson (Lee). They wedded on April 1, 1992. They were married for over a decade until the tragic death of her Lee.
After Lee's passing, Bert decided it was time for a new start, so she moved to LA, where she spent over a decade of her life. There, she became a member of Beacon Light Baptist Church, where she played an active role throughout the church. She was on the culinary committee, pastoral support, and part of the prayer service committee. After many years of living in LA, it was decided that Bert would move back to North Carolina due to her decline in health. After a few years back, Bert became a member of First Baptist Church.
Bert was a strong-minded woman; even though her health continued to decline, she did not let that stop her from doing the things she loved. She loved to travel, go shopping, and spend time with family and friends. Those who knew her knew she had the gift of gab, which means she never met a stranger, and wherever she went, she made sure she was the life of the party. Bert's fun, loving, bold, vibrant personality will surely be missed by many.
Bert is preceded in death by her parents, Pear and Druise Williams; her husband, Lee Anderson; her two daughters, Stacey and Regina; her four brothers, Kenny Williams (Ken), Willie Williams (Bill), Allen Williams (Al), and Fred Williams, and one sister, Sara Satterfield.
She leaves her cherished memories with her two daughters, Sandra Carter of the home, and Constance Clark (Prentice) of Wadesboro, NC. Her three grandchildren Donnell Carter of Mitchellville, MD, Ny'Asia Wall (Jeremy) and La'Niya Clark both of Wadesboro, NC. Four great-grandchildren who were the apple of her eye: Kwamori, Londyn Braylen, and Ka'Liyah. Her two brothers George Williams (Barbara) and Johnny Williams(Leroy)(Darlene) both from Fort Washington, MD. Her three sisters Mary Forbes (Jasper) and Earlie Williams (Louise) both of Fort Washington, MD and Theola Coe of Wadesboro, NC. Also, many hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

To every thing there is a season, a time to be born and a time to die. And a time to mourn. The Word didn't stop there. It also says there is a time to dance. When I think about dancing, I think about a celebration, celebrating the time spent with Bert and hearing about her bold adventures. In the midst of your pain, don't forget to laugh, remember, the joy of the Lord is your strength!!! God allowed those experiences for such a time as this.
