She confessed Christ at an early age and was a member of Flat Rock Missionary Baptist Church in Wadesboro, North Carolina. In her later years, she rededicated her life to Christ and attended The Church of God of Prophecy in Morven, North Carolina.

Janette was a free spirit who loved spending time with her family and friends. Her out-going and contagious laugh made her “the life of the party.” She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and niece. She lived her life to the fullest and will be forever cherished in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her father, James Henry Spencer.
Janette leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Mrs. Charlie Mae Shull of Rockingham, NC; two sisters, Vera Cash (Larry) of Morven, NC and Sharon Sturdivant of Rockingham, NC; four brothers, James E. Spencer of Wadesboro, NC, Pernell Spencer of Rockingham, NC, Christopher Spencer of Laurinburg, NC, and David Spencer of Rockingham, NC; five aunts, Pastor Iris Tillman (Athan), Pastor Elizabeth Evans (Mitch), Pastor Ruby Clark (Joe), Pastor Dannie Montgomery (John), and Apostle Mamie Gould (Carlston); and one uncle, Willoughby McCormick.
A host of nieces and nephews in which she had a pleasure of being a part of their lives, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and special friends.
