Obituary For Ms. Joyce Elaine Little

Ms. Joyce Elaine Little, daughter of the late Jolly Little Sr. and Mary Marie Willoughby Little, was born on July 13, 1969, in Wadesboro, North Carolina. She departed this earthly life at the age of 53 and transitioned to her heavenly home on Friday, January 20, 2023 at her residence.

Joyce was affectionally known to many as “Tadahead” a nickname that was given to her at birth. Joyce was the youngest of thirteen siblings.

She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Gatewood Station A.M.E. Zion Church in Morven, North Carolina.

Joyce attended Anson County Public Schools. She graduated from Anson Senior High School and was a proud member of the Class of 1988.

Joyce was employed by Walmart Corporation in Wadesboro, NC for over fifteen years, before retiring. After retirement, Joyce enjoyed her last days spending time with her great nephew and niece, Marguis Jr. “Jr B” and Emerald Rose, whom she loved dearly.

She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and friend to many. Joyce was a loving and kind person that had a very giving nature. She was eager to help in any way and was known for amazing customer service. Anyone that knew her, knew that she was the life of the party with her dancing and smiling.

Joyce leaves to cherish and precious memories to, two sons: Marshall Exrail Little and Daniel Montrel Little; one daughter, Aaliyah Danyel Little; one granddaughter, Kimora Jazelle Little. One nephew whom she loved as her own son, Jeremy “Boot” Little. Six sisters, Evangelist Mary Watkins (Willie) of Oakboro, NC, Evangelist Rebecca Dawkins of Greensboro, NC, Ruby Little of Wadesboro, NC, Delia Ann Little of Raleigh, NC, Rosa Leak (Leonard) of Wadesboro, NC and Teresa Little of Morven, NC. Two brothers, Henry Thomas Little (Betty) of Lilesville, NC and Richard Little (Claretta) of Wadesboro, NC. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special friends, Shirley McLendon, Mary Smith, Contrenia Hairston and Frances Teal.

Joyce treasured ALL her nieces and nephews dearly and loved them as Her own. She will truly be missed, by her family and all that knew her.

~Together Again~ Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Jolly and Mary Little, four brothers, Jimmy Little, Charles Little, Jolly Little Jr. and William Howard Little.

The Homegoing Services will be on Thursday, January 26, 2023, 1:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will be in the Little Family Plot at Gatewood Station AME Zion Church Cemetery, Morven, North Carolina.

The Little Family will greet family and friends on Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 12:30-1:00pm at Smith's Memorial Chapel.

The public viewing for Ms. Little will be on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 from 3:45-5:45pm.

The family will be receiving friends at the residence of Mrs. Rose Little-Leak.
