Altamese Price, born in Tampa, Florida to Alfred Thompson and Addie Boyd on September 29, 1941, and transitioned peacefully on September 7, 2024.
A proud graduate of Blake High School, class of 1959.
Altamese relocated to New York City in 1962 to pursue a better life. She held various jobs before securing a position with the New York City Transit Authority, where she enjoyed a fulfilling 25-year career. After retiring, she returned to Tampa and actively contributed to her high school class as Vice President of the Class of 1959.
Altamese was also a devoted member of the River of Life
Church Ministries, where she dedicated her life to the Lord.
She enjoyed traveling, shopping, and the movie theaters on Fridays.
Altamese is survived by her four children: Barry, Kimberly, Darryl, and Keith. She also leaves behind her siblings: Ruby Thompson, Alfred Thompson, sister-in-law Carolyn Thompson Cynthia Thompson, sister-in-law Gloria Sexton, Mildred Thompson, and Kathartis Charles Hernandez. Her legacy includes a host of loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Alfred, Sr and Addie; son, Robert Price; sister, Sandra Lee Jackson; grandson, Lil Darryl Price and daughter-in-law, Ali Price.
Altamese will forever be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends. Special thanks is extended to Melody Baker, whom she embraced as a daughter. Altamese will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her
